K-Drama: Queen of the Ring

I can't believe I just found this drama although it's been three months since their last episode.

I guess this drama holds such an important and useful message that I have to write a whole post just for it, mostly blabbering about how I feel about it and my personal opinion.

Potential spoiler, read at your own risk!

MY PERSONAL RATINGS
Story-line: ★★★★☆
No. of episodes: ★★☆☆☆
Meaningfulness: ★★★★★
Cast: ★★★★★

You can skip this part if you understood everything from the plot section
So Nan-hee tricked Se-gun into putting that ring on for her and magic happened. In Se-gun eyes, she's a totally different person, which is his ideal type (when Nan-hee has that ring on her).

S/N: She will look like her original self if she didn't wear that ring, which is shared with her mom. She have to reach home in time to return the ring to her mom before her dad comes home, which are one of the main reason that resulted to her having to interact with Se-gun in her original appearance.

During the time when Nan-hee were in her original form, she told Se-gun that her friends would bring her out during match-making or dates because she's ugly and they wanted to have a ugly friend beside them so that they look pretty. Honestly it pains me the most that she's constantly reminded by people around her that she's not important or not as important as other pretty girls, just because she's "ugly". Ohgod don't even mention how angry I were. I mean girl, those aren't your friend. Fuck them and their disgusting heart.

The part where I teared up was when Nan-hee expressed how she feels about herself, which were all insecurities and also loneliness. When guys would think that there's no need to walk her home because she's ugly and therefore there won't be chances of anything bad happening to her. I got really emotional whilst watching that part as I can totally understand how she felt at that point.
It feels like shit knowing that you're not worthy of any one's love because of whats on the outside. I get sad about it too but I know (and hope) that one day, someone important will make me feel otherwise, and I'm so gonna marry that person who managed to HAHA OOPS.

At the end, the drama ended off with a happy ending (bless my whole existence oml yas). Nan-hee learnt that she don't have to be pretty in order for someone to love her. She just have to find the right person who can notice the good in her. And Se-gun learnt that you love someone because of their personality, because of how he/she is as a person, not just for the looks.

You don't have to be beautiful to be loved. Because when you love someone, that person looks beautiful to you. — Queen of the Ring

I find this drama really meaningful as everyone likes pretty things, good looking people, ect ect. I'm one of them too. I like checking out good looking guys (and girls lmao) and I like pretty things. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it. But it's important to remind ourselves that it's not always about whats on the outside, *cough* for example, one can look like Song Joongki or Suzy but has a shitty attitude or childish mindset, so don't neglect whats on the inside *cough*. At the end of the story, everyone has a different taste. So I'm sure you will find that one person who truly thinks that you're the one for them whether you're skinny / fat / tall / short / pretty / ugly / round / square blablabla.

lastly let me vent about how I kind of ship Nan-hee and her male bestfriend but still.

Until next time.
